What you are actually paying for
A ready-made sofa hides its economics inside the frame: stapled softwood, cardboard webbing, foam that collapses within three years of Malaysian humidity and daily use. When we quote from RM6,800, the money sits where you cannot see it.
- Kiln-dried nyatoh or oak frame, glued and dowelled — never stapled.
- Eight-way hand-tied springs or premium elastic webbing, your choice after a sit test.
- High-resilience foam cores wrapped in feather or fibre, rated for tropical heat.
- Upholstery in your fabric or ours — we work with local and imported mills and will tell you which wear ratings actually matter.
- Removable covers on request, which most families with children eventually thank us for.
Sizing to the room, not the catalogue
Standard sofas come in fixed widths that rarely match Malaysian link-house walls. We measure the wall, the walkway, the swing of the nearest door and the line of sight to the television, then draw the sofa to fit all four. Depth and seat height are set to the tallest and shortest people who will use it daily — bring them both to the sit test.
The sit test
Before we cut anything, you visit the workshop and sit on our reference rigs: three seat depths, three firmnesses, three back heights. Twenty minutes of sitting beats any amount of describing. We adjust the drawings to what your back tells us.
